Kent House, 2025

We are currently developing early concept designs for a new family home in Kent, shaped by a brief that prioritises family living, flexibility, and a strong relationship between the internal spaces and the surrounding landscape. The proposed layout focuses on creating generous, light-filled living areas that support everyday family life while allowing spaces to adapt as needs change over time.

A key aspect of the design is the seamless connection between indoors and outdoors. Large openings at ground floor level extend the principal living spaces onto a substantial outdoor terrace, conceived as an extension of the home rather than a separate external space. This arrangement encourages year-round use, enhances natural daylight, and promotes visual continuity between the house and garden.

The architectural expression is deliberately simple and contemporary. Externally, the proposal combines clean white rendered walls with dark grey brickwork to introduce depth and texture, while a seamless metal-clad roof provides a crisp, modern silhouette. This restrained material palette creates a cohesive and timeless aesthetic, balancing modern design principles with a sensitivity to the local context.
